Rights Trainings
Workers’ rights are only real when workers know them and have tools to exercise them. The Washington State Labor Education and Research Center (LERC) regularly conducts trainings for workers across Washington on rights at the state, federal, and municipal levels. The LERC’s trainings are based on the Center’s well-known Workers Rights Manual, which groups workers’ rights into the 5 categories below. Within each category, LERC trainings address individual legal frameworks, important things for workers to know, tips and strategies for enforcing those rights at work, and resources for when help is needed.
A Resource to the Community
Based at South Seattle College’s Georgetown campus, the LERC regularly provides Workers Rights Trainings to apprentices and other students in workforce readiness program on campus. The LERC also provides trainings for community organizations and groups across the state.
